Our Story
It all started with a puppy named Strudel and a wardrobe malfunction.
The journey of Maison Doxie began when we welcomed Strudel into our lives at four months old. Like any proud dachshund parents, we wanted her to look her best when out and about. But we quickly ran into a problem that only dachshund owners truly understand.
The “standard” dog clothes found on the high street simply couldn’t cope with the unique majestic physique of a sausage dog.
- The Deep Chest: Standard fits were too tight across the ribs.
- The Short Legs: Sleeves were always a tripping hazard.
- The Long Back: This was the biggest struggle. Everything we bought turned into an unintended “crop top” or a midriff-baring belly shirt.
We didn’t want Strudel to compromise on style or comfort. We wanted jumpers and outfits that actually fit. So, my partner and I decided to take matters into our own paws.
Maison Doxie was born out of necessity and love.
We set out to create a brand that solves these specific pain points, ensuring no other dachshund parent has to settle for ill-fitting clothes again.

The original inspiration behind the brand. Strudel ensures that every design can withstand a good run in the park and looks dapper from every angle. She is the standard for our adult sizing.
NALA
Junior Intern & Puppy Relations
The newest addition to our extended family (and the apple of my mother’s eye). At just over three months old, Nala is our head of quality control for the little ones. She proves that you’re never too young to start dressing with style.
A: We promise, the crop top days are over! Our patterns are specifically elongated to suit the dachshund’s back. To get the perfect fit, please measure your dog’s Back Length (from the base of the neck to the base of the tail) and compare it to our size guide.
A: Absolutely! If your dog has a long body and a deep chest (a lovely Doxie mix, perhaps?), our clothes might be just what you’ve been looking for. Feel free to drop us a message with your dog’s measurements, and we’ll happily advise.
A: Not at all. We know that dachshunds are vertically challenged! We design our armholes to be comfortable and high enough to ensure their little legs can move freely without getting caught in fabric.
A: To keep the outfits looking fresh, we recommend a gentle machine wash at 30°C or a hand wash. Please lay flat to dry to maintain the shape and length.
