Size Guide: Finding the Perfect Fit

At Maison Doxie, we know that "Low Riders" come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you have a Kaninchen (Rabbit), a Miniature, or a Tweenie Dachshund, getting the right measurements is the key to ensuring they look fabulous and feel comfortable.

How to Measure Your Dachshund

To get the most accurate fit, please measure your dog while they are standing up. You will need a soft measuring tape.

1. Chest (The Most Important Measurement) Measure around the widest part of your dog's ribcage, usually right behind the front legs. Ensure the tape is snug but not tight.

2. Length Measure along the back from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail.

3. Neck Measure around the base of the neck where a collar would naturally sit. Use the "two-finger rule": you should be able to fit two fingers comfortably between the tape and your dog’s neck.

Fit Tips for Low Riders

• The Chest is Key: For dachshunds, always choose the size based on the chest measurement first. If the chest is too tight, the garment will be uncomfortable, regardless of the length.
• Harness Users: If your dog wears a harness under their coat, please measure them while they are wearing the harness to ensure there is enough room.
• The "Trip" Factor: Our designs are specifically cut shorter at the front to prevent those short legs from getting caught in the fabric while walking or running.
